When in Monterey Bay and Carmel area, one of the mandatory things to do is to visit the Lone Cypress. It is really gorgeous! It stands tall alone erect from the middle of a rock that in itself is crumbling so there is reinforcement around it. One cannot really go to the tree itself since the many footsteps would wear off the rock it stands on but I must admit it is quite aw inspiring looking at it even from far.
