The Joy of Design Mandala Series Puzzle 8 Arrangement 4 by Helena Tiainen is created with 64 panels of scanned original acrylic paintings in The Joy of Design Series that consists of small square acrylic paintings that are designed to hang in all the eight directions either alone or in arrangements with each other. In these Mandala Series Puzzles I use a selected number of the TJOD selected scanned works and create nine different arrangements with these chosen panels, in the case of this Puzzle 8, I have chosen eight paintings used eight times each in different orientations. This series is intended to be fun and play and eye candy and also mirror to the viewer their own understandings through associations, much like the ink blot tests reveal, but for fun and observation and not necessarily for psychoanalytical purposes.
