The Green Sea Turtle is the largest of the hard shell turtles. When the small fragile sea turtle leaves the egg shell it is about 2 inches. As an adult, it can reach 700 pounds. The most surprising fact for me is that this particular turtle can not pull his head in and out of his shell. The head is always exposed. They may be heavy but the can travel as the rate of 35 mph.
