Description
Gnarled tree roots burst through the surface of the dirt trail that lies before me.
Young trees are on either side with limbs stretching in all directions and lush green leaves dangling overhead.
Where the trail leads, I have no idea.
Whispers of wind rustle the leaves and capture the attention of some deep and mysterious yearning within my being. The forest beckons me, and I have no desire to resist, though I do not know where the trail will lead. I feel a sense of safety and protection from all who have gone before me.
Within the arms of Mother Earth, I am loved and provided for. Within her chest, I will one day be laid to rest. For now, I will enjoy the journey into her strong and comforting depths.
