Sweetest Tongue Has Sharpest Tooth
Artist
Pet Serrano
Medium
Painting - Digital Oil
Description
Little girls, this seems to say,
Never stop upon your way,
Never trust a stranger-friend;
No one knows how it will end.
As you're pretty so be wise;
Wolves may lurk in every guise.
Handsome they may be, and kind,
Gay, and charming - never mind!
Now, as then, 'tis simple truth --
Sweetest tongue has sharpest tooth! -- Charles Perrault, 1697.
A werewolf attempts to seduce a girl in a red cloak who has strayed from the path through the woods, based on the original erotic nature of the Red Riding Hood tales. Read more about this painting in my blog or on my facebook page.

OMG, that tree, I nearly lost it doing the bark. (It still didn't come out as planned, of course.) I had in mind the wolf who is "hairy on the inside" as the Grandmother says in the Angela Carter story when I started this piece a few years ago, then it changed, and changed back again.
