Description

This beautiful little Rufous hummingbird was sitting on the top of a Bottle Brush shrub and showing his bright orange throat. It was so still and I supposed he was waiting to get his next fill of nectar from the flowers in the lower part of the shrub. I paired this image with bible Scripture from Psalm 37:11 about meekness in a Spiritual sense. I realize that I need to take these words to heart and remember to trust the Lord in all things, to be of a gentle spirit and shine His light through me.
Rufous Hummingbirds (Selasphorus rufus) commonly migrate through California and the western part of the United States. They mostly feed on nectar and also insects. They have been known to take insects out of spider webs as well as the spiders.
