Description
“Sunset ‘Cicles”
---Original Photography by Doug Kreuger
Looking out our kitchen window provides an ever-changing show of nature’s seasonal beauty:
Spring brings pink and white blossoms to these small ornamental trees, while summer fills these same trees and lawn with varying shades of verdant green leaves. Autumn, my favorite time of the year, brings brightly colored leaves of orange, red & golden.
Throughout the changing seasons we are always treated to viewing gorgeous sunsets, spreading its warm glow across the fading sky, creating a dazzling display to celebrate the ending of another blessed day.

Beautiful framing with the icicles, Doug! Lovely golden light through the silhouette of the bushes and in the icicles. Love the shade and sparkles on the snow from the sunset! Very nicely presented! l/f

Such a gorgeous composition! Love the vertical pattern of icicles set against the horizontal shadows in the snow and the horizontal patterns within the icicles themselves. The contrast of warm and cool colors is great. L&F Did you add the little pattern of sparkles in the snow? Looks like a "Doug touch" to me!
Doug Kreuger replied:
Carolyn, Thanks so much for your insightful comments. I did add the sparkles…though, they were present in my minds eye. ((-:

I remember being so fascinated by ice cycles as child---and probably because of the light reflections in them---like the way you caught the warm glow in these. lvf
Doug Kreuger replied:
Thanks so much Nava, I have also enjoyed a longtime fascination with the light refracting properties of icicles---even more so with the rippled forming process produced by the falling and freezing of water drips.
