Sunrise on the Mississippi River post Hurricane Katrina photo taken from the bow of the emergency oil clean up vessel docked in Chalmette, Louisiana USA. Just to the left of the photo during the height of Hurricane Katrina, the tidal surge was so forceful it pushed off its foundation a holding talk filled with oil. The oil along with the tidal surge was disbursed throughout the community of Chalmette, Louisiana and caused a bio hazard post Katrina, Most of the homes were leveled or floated away from there foundations. When I was personal able to go back into the area I had tried to search in vain for my Godmother's home and was never able to even locate where her home once stood. At the time I was Chef on the disaster clean up vessel, the inner-national Red Cross Ship which temporary housed 1st responders, medical personal had left the port of New Orleans, Louisiana. The immediate rescue mission and medical services which were available on board the Red Cross Medical Ship was no longer needed, operations in the entire area was on way for rebuilding all who were affected by such a force of a manmade the collapse of the levee walls and natural disaster.
