This series of succulent abstracts includes five paintings, in five different colors. Each unique piece features monochrome background, with some of the paintings having more dense background and some more visibly retaining the brushstrokes.
The minimalist abstracts are nature inspired and influenced by Henri Matisse colorful cut-outs and his exploration of the boundary between abstraction and figuration. White bird shapes seem to capture and show off the sculptural beauty of desert plants. Or, perhaps, the leaves simply reveal their hidden desire to get off the ground and fly.
