Stormy Day At The False Kiva
Photograph - Photography
I hiked down to the 'Flase Kiva' in Canyonlands National Park on a rainy gloomy day with fog dancing at the top of distant mesas and rock formations. At first I was pretty bummed about the weather since I only had a couple of days to spend in Arches/ Canyonlands National Parks in Eastern Utah and the conditions were not great. The muddy wash and steep slopes made it a pretty grueling hike despite the short distance involved.
In the end I came away with an image I felt was much more unique than the many sunrises and sunsets I've seen captured here and a new sense of respect for some of these sites that exist throughout the American Southwest.
