Storm clouds are making their way to the rocky shore lines of Beltzville Lake in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. As twilight approaches, this April landscape scene finds the state park and lake devoid of the usual fishermen and park visitors. Waves, glowing with waning sunlight, continue their march on the lake's shores.

Beltzville Lake is located in Beltzville State Park, east of Lehighton in Carbon County, Pennsylvania. A Pocono Mountain landmark, the lake is a popular destination for many Pennsylvania residents due to it's 15 miles of hiking trails, fishing, recreational boating, hunting and of course, it's beach. During the winter months, the park is open for ice fishing and the trails are open for cross-country skiing.

The lake opened in 1972. It was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
