This is a sketch of the very old elegant courthouse located in Simpson County, Kentucky. The sketch will be the basis for a future large project I will be working on soon for a client. The canvas size is going to be 60x60".
The Simpson County Courthouse, also known as the Old Simpson County Courthouse, is a building in Franklin, Kentucky located on US 31W and Kentucky Route 73. This brick building with stone trim featuring small porches and a clock tower was designed by the McDonald Brothers from Louisville. It has undergone extensive remodeling and updating but remains basically the structure built in 1882 using a Late Victorian style. In 1962, wings were added to mimic the original style.
The Simpson County Courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
