Tortoiseshell Cat in Watercolor Drip/Spatter Art, by Conni Schaftenaar
Part of our play/experimentation in watercolor class for the summer session includes drip art and spatter art. I wasn't very successful in making my "drips" work well, but I did some spattering and used a dauber to get some textures behind the cat. The cat itself is done in a fairly loose style.
Reference image is mine - her name was Sierra, and she was one of my beautiful barn cats for a number of years. She came to me when her family of 5 years moved and couldn't have her in a new apartment. She was very loving and followed me around whenever I was out in the barn, crying for me to pick her up and cuddle her. I often took longer to do jobs in the barn that I was doing because of her! Such a sweetie!

Hahahahahaha, no, Harmut, all I had was me standing there taking her picture, and she was ALWAYS all about me holding and petting her when I was out in the barn - she followed me and talked to me constantly, wanting a little love! So, I guess that makes ME the canary!
