Title
Seattle History 3 - Transportation Mural
Artist
Jeff Burgess
Medium
Photograph - Giclee Print
Description
This section of the transportation mural depicts Seattle in the 40s and 50s up until the development and production of the Boeing 767. The tallest building then was the Smith Tower which is depicted in the upper work as well as to the right of the plane in the lower segment. For more information about the mural please check out "Seattle History 2" which describes the destruction of the lower 10-12 feet by vandals using grafiti in the last 5 or so years. A shameful loss of some beautiful work depicting Seattle's history. The artists name was obliterated with graffiti.

I noticed more defacement of the mural today, so these images may be the only lasting ones taken before the art is full destroyed. There is, in fact, only one partial capture available presently, and it is -frankly- not of artistic quality.

Jeff Burgess replied:
Yes indeed, of course not painted by myself, although the color, brightness, contrast, etc. is my doing. Appreciate the comment.

Thanks so much for the comment Khalid. This mural was almost destroyed by vandals and their graffiti.
