Description
So about 3 or 4 years ago, I asked my good friend, John Meza to build me a cross. He did. I dyed and painted some feathers, seashells, and few sand dollars. I began arranging the elements in the cross. I added the white sea glass to fill in the crevices of the sea shell and feather arrangement in the center. At the top I placed the gold sand dollar symbolizing the best of times, at the botom a deep eggplant purple sand dollar symbolizing dark times, the pink and the blue symbolize the femenine and masculine. The little glass bubbles symbolize souls flowing in and out of it all. I am a Christian but I am deeply saddened by what some of my fellow Christians do and say in the name of Christianity. This piece reminds me that I am not just Christian, I am of the earth and of my ancestors and I flow in and out of good and dark times, my brothers and sisters with me. This photo of my cross has been digitally boosted. The cross is what it is without the circles.
