Description
Riomaggiore, one of the Cinque Terre (Five Lands) is located on a rugged portion of the north western Italian coast. It is part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Being that it is built right along the coast and on the hillsides, the buildings are built seemingly on top of each other. Before tourism, most of the people here lived off vineyards and olive cultivation. The main way to get to these small villages is either by boat or train. Some of the villages do not have roads to get to them by car.
