This piece was produced by taking the "Quiescent" drawing, then overlaying it with textured, stained, handmade paper.
The original drawing was done in charcoal and conte, was initially done as a quick sketch - then redrawn at A2 size using compressed charcoal onto Daler Rowney Fine Grain HeavyWeight paper.

Im kind of interested in recording the energy of the marks... most of the work Im doing at the moment is in conté, because one cant rub it out, it makes me concentrate more on the marks I make.

Thank you Lisa... kind of feels like cheating adding the texture like I do... I may try doing it all in one with pumice gel (or something?), but guess I would have to paint, not draw the figures.
