Description

The Potter School was built in 1873, and dedicated on October 31. It is the location where Alfred Hitchcock filmed the classic horror movie "The Birds" in 1963. I felt just a bit of a chill when we first came upon it. Such a nostalgic place that carries a, aura about it.

This famous two-story building with a prominent cupola stands behind a white picket fence. It features arched windows and shutters, contrasting with a light-colored facade and a clear blue sky backdrop.

Now a private residence, the old Potter School in the town of Bodega, California has become a favorite destination spot as a result of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film. The school building is the actual schoolhouse that was depicted in the scene where the children are running down the hill. It remains the only recognizable landmark in the area from the filming. Though the monkey bars are now long gone... the birds are still here!
