Description
The dogwood is the official state flower of Virginia. Dogwoods trees come in several varieties, yet the pink dogwoods are showstoppers and beckons one to take a closer look at their spring blooms. Dogwood flowers bloom in early April.
I photograph these dogwood bracts for a hi-key look and I've added a texture, a bit of softness to the image. Every year my goal is to photograph dogwood blooms before the small buds open. Once those small buds open, that is the actual flower of the dogwood.
