St. Thomas More, is the patron saint of Politicians and Statesmen. In this contemporary, abstract painting, Donoghue respects this saint and invokes turning to him in prayer for interventions in the current political environments in the US and across the world. Some of the embedded photos comes from the Catholic, News Herald publications. one of the photos, a group of priests, parishioners, walking with face masks, holding long crucifixes. Another is the face of Thomas More. Thomas's Feast day is June 22nd, and he is also considered a patron Saint of Adopted children, Lawyers, civil servants, difficult marriages. He lived in the late 1400 in London and became member of Parliament, he was a lawyer, father, adviser, theologian, and writer. During another time of political correctness, Thomas got on the wrong side of Henry VIII and was beheaded. "The Kings good servant, but God's first" was said to be his final words. More wrote the fictional book "Utopia" of a fictional island, as socio-political satire, the Ideal political system based on reason; but relative to the life in a Monastery. More was Canonized, by the Catholic Church, in 1935. The Church of England, commemorates him as a "Reformation Martyr". Now knowing more, Prayers for all political figures to have the wisdom, truth and Integrety to properly lead with Gods hand as their guide.
