Description
SANIBEL ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE
Sanibel Island, Florida
Gulf of Mexico
A third order Fresnel lamp shines one hundred feet above sea level on the southern tip of Sanibel Island. Long an island for shell collectors, this paradise is a really delightful place to visit. Stroll on the beaches, fish from shore and see the light and keeper’s dwelling. This metal cylindrical tower was built in 1884 to guide mariners into the port of Punta Rassa and Fort Meyers on the West Coast of Florida.
This digitally painted accent piece will please any collector or anyone with an eye for color and texture. The oil paint processing technique lends additional tone and texture to the image and is best seen enlarged. Hold your cursor over the image until the square box is presented then click to enlarge the spot.
