All owls are birds of prey and live mostly on insects and small rodents such as mice, rats and hares. They are found in nearly all parts of the world and live a nocturnal lifestyle and can fly without making a noise. They are well known for their large eyes and a sharp beak which is used for gripping and tearing their prey.
