When looking for Monarch caterpillars on Milkweed plants, I look for leaves that have big bites taken out of them. Many times when you look at the bottom of those leaves you can find a caterpillar! So, I am happy to find chewed off leaves, but at this particular time, I was really happy to see this leaf intact and loved the graceful curve it formed.
Weeds are funny things. They can actually be tall and have beautiful flowers. They may smell really good. They are always quite hardy and easy to grow. They may be very beneficial to creatures we all love . . . and yet, folks look at them with disdain and call them weeds. Thus is the life of a Milkweed plant. I agree that the problem with them is that they decide where they want to grow and ignore the gardeners' wishes, which can be frustrating! And of course, too much of a good thing is, well . . . too much! But, I do love my milkweed plants!
This is the world the butterflies and bees get to enjoy, which I assume they do!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
