Description
North Port, Florida, has set aside many acres of natural, Old Florida jungle and forests for residents to enjoy. Miles of trails wind through the centuries old oaks, pines and palms. Many include streams, creeks and rivers. Evidence of wildlife is often evident even though the animals aren't seen. Wild hogs and boars rut through and along the trails making walking difficult at times. Birds can be heard in the tree tops and turtle holes can be observed here and there.
This scene is at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park. A sunny winter day created beautiful shadows and reflections in the water and bright contrasts in the jungle. I have digitally abstracted the original image and applied a watercolor effect for a bright painterly look.
