"NO ORDINARY PANSY" –Image evolved to paintography from a photo of this one stand out pansy taken outside my studio in Asheville, North Carolina. This digital rendering, a representation of “New Mixed Media” is a synthesis of realism and abstraction.

Any number of people on my social media network expressed the sense that this image feels like a remedy to their emotive response to current events.


As people attempt to probe the meaning of "What's Going On," possibly this abstraction of a single flower can bring to mind the essential bits in life, and return, in bold color, the energies of joie de vivre!
