Description
This mama Eastern Kingbird sits on her eggs in the nest she built in a tree, her white-tipped tail sticking up. Kingbirds raise one brood of young per year, feeding them for around seven weeks before they are independent. They eat mostly flying insects and aggressively defend their breeding territory. Photographed in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in a wetland.
