Description
This is a mound of white wildflowers; I believe they are Japanese Hedge Parsley. They are growing up out of an old brush pile of tree branches and have grown profusely through the pile to reach the sunlight. There is a sprinkle of Coreopsis flowers within the mound.
Japanese Hedge Parsley (Torilis japonica) grow in mounds and have little white flowers on them. It is an invasive plant and can grow 2 to 4 feet tall. There have been medicinal uses for this plant as it contains a substance called torilin which has been studied for its use with treatment of cancer. It has been used in some Asian countries to treat cough and fever.
Coreopsis are in the Asteraceae family of flowers and are also called Tickseed.
