Looking up into the towering branches of the Moon Tree locate in Friendly Plaza in Monterey, CA. The tree,a redwood, was grown from a seed that traveled to the moon on NASA's Apollo 14 mission in 1971. The project was part of an experiment to see if seeds would still be able to germinate properly after being exposed to the effects of radiation in space.
