Monterosso al Mare, Cross of Monterosso, It is in the village of Monterosso, part of the five villages of Cinque Terra on the Ligurian Riviera that we find this beautifully simple cross. Away from the beaches and hives of tourist activity Mr. Dunn could have focused on the most famous sculpture, the Giant which populates a hillside by the sea. This statue of Neptune was created by Levacher and Minerbi and architect and sculptor respectively.

Resisting the draw of this famous towering work Mark decides instead to concentrate on a lone cross in what looks like hues of blue and green seclusion. This ornate cross stands in iron contrast to the backdrop of pastoral surroundings. Striking in its simplicity, it draws on into the backdrop of reflection.
