Title
Minerva's Messenger
Artist
D Renee Wilson
Medium
Painting - Watercolor
Description
This owl watercolor illustration is a message to someone that needs it.
Be still.
The earth beneath your feet will hold you.
Open wide your eyes.
The stars hold all the knowledge you'll ever need.
Never forget that you are made of star stuff.
This particular model was a messenger from Minerva. You might be thinking you know her as Athena, but no, this is Minerva. Roman counterpart plus some. Magic and commerce being the the major plus. She wasn't as warlike throughout all of Italy, just in Rome. Minerva was the patron goddess of all craftsmen and poets, as well as medicine and wisdom. And like Athena, the owl was her sacred symbol and messenger.
If her message is for you, this little owl can be added to your collection.
It was painted with Sennelier watercolors on 100% cotton 140lb archival cold press watercolor paper and measures
6" x 9".
