I took this Magnificent Winged Egret Bird Flying fine art photo at the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve in California. I was there shooting at sunrise and stayed till sunset. It is a natures photographers paradise and it is easy to get to. I got some incredible migrating bird shots. This shot of this beautiful graceful Egret taking off was a sight to behold. and I one of my favorites. The way the sun shines through this magnificent birds wing so beautiful and elegant . Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve has several kinds of birds and it is one of my favorite places to go take photos of migrating birds.
FYI: Like all egrets, it is a member of the heron family, Ardeidae. Traditionally classified with the storks in the Ciconiiformes, the Ardeidae are closer relatives of pelicans and belong in the Pelecaniformes instead. The Great Egret�unlike the typical egrets�does not belong to the genus Egretta but together with the great herons is today placed in Ardea. In the past, however, it was sometimes placed in Egretta or separated in a monotypic genus Casmerodius.

My photography is about seeing and experiencing the beauty all around me and hoping it will move the viewer in a way they feel what I felt in that moment, in that once in a lifetime moment that has now been caught in the beauty of a print for all to see.
It is my intention through my original fine art photography to share the beauty and perfection I see with those that view my work. Jerry, your exquisitely angled sea reflections are eye-catchers, but this unique shot must be singled out for its display of careful forethought as well as the floating Egret's sheer dominance over the site.
