Description
Selected by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as one of the 150 Great Places in Illinois, the Macoupin County Courthouse in Carlinville, IL was designed by famous state capitol building architect Elijah E. Myers. At the time of its completion in 1870, it was reported to be the largest courthouse in the United States, with the possible exception of New York, according to local historians. The courthouse is dubbed "The Million Dollar Courthouse" due to its cost overruns at the time it was built with a total price tag of 1.3 million dollars.
Jeff Burton is a Peoria, IL based Fine Art Photographer, who seeks to capture moments that instill a sense of calm and wonderment with the world around us. His monochrome photography style emphasizes the often-overlooked rich texture and tones of his subjects.
