After months of waiting during the COVID pandemic shutdown, not knowing if the park would open, Kenilworth Aquatic Garden in Washington, DC did reopen - just in time for photographers to view and photograph the lotus blossoms.
The lotus is a revered flower, that emerges every year from the depths of mud and muck, climbing through muddy water to emerge...beautiful and glorious.
This particular image is a composite of several photographs, blended to capture as many blossoms as possible. It shows the almost overwhelming abundance of beauty that is displayed in the garden as the lotuses begin their short stay in the sun.
