Description

While enjoying the nature area on the Venice campus of State College of Florida, this heron landed nearby in the wetland lake. It's long legs glided silently through the abundant water plants as though it was looking for lunch. This landscape of the large bird has been digitally treated with a pastel paint application.

State College of Florida Venice campus has a beautiful nature trail available to the public for running, walking, of biking around a large lake. Water fowl and birds frequent the area, as do alligators. The residents are always warned, "If there is a body of water, always assume there are gators."

I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains.
