Description
Little Sable Point Lighthouse, a white brick tower 107 feet tall, stands on a point about 10 miles south of Pentwater, Michigan. The lighthouse was built in 1874, and the automated light shining from the tower is fixed and flashing white, the flashes being of 40,000 candlepower every six seconds. The late evening light and misty overcast weather adds to the dramatic look and feel of this image. The original image was captured on Kodak Tri-X black and white film which adds the characteristic film grain that enhances the image giving it a classic black and white feel.
Jeff Burton is a Peoria, IL based Fine Art Photographer, who seeks to capture moments that instill a sense of calm and wonderment with the world around us. His monochrome photography style emphasizes the often-overlooked rich texture and tones of his subjects.
