Let The Sun Shine In--vertical

Description
An image taken in Antelope Canyon--this one from one of the canyons in the Upper Antelope Canyon--here looking at a vertical interpretation. This picture is looking straight up from a tiny crevice the size of a mouse I stood in tip-toe. The colors are stunning and natural light is used. The size of opening is misleading relative to the space around it--the opening on the bottom where you see the sky is probably 30 feet+ long but it is so distant that is looks tiny.
...............................................................
The canyons themselves are in the north part of Arizona, close to the border with Utah and just about at level with the Grand Canyon but north of the well known South Rim. Also south of these canyons is Sedona with its red rocks and mountains, amazing creeks and canyons and vegetation. Antelope Canyon is near the city of Page from which you can take special tours with the Navajo Nation Parks and their licensed groups. To photograph at these canyons and be allowed to post and sell, you also need to purchase a photo permit from the Navajo Nation Parks, so the photos you find on my pages are all covered by such permit. The permits are very reasonable. watch out for the season of the year you are actually able to visit these beautiful canyons since during the rainy season the canyons are closed from public view since they are very dangerous if fast moving waters carrying heavy debris run through them unannounced from rains nearby--not necessarily over the canyons themselves. The hike itself is quite difficult at all of the canyon in the Upper Antelope Canyon, which is in contrast to the Lower Antelope Canyon where most tourists go and is an easy walk with large and spacious walkways among the gorgeously nature-carved walls.

Thanks Eti! It is the same as the Nat Geo one only turned vertical. It looks a bit more "sensual" actually to me...

I love this shot! I have been in this slot many times. I have never seen the color palette you have in your image, a beautiful and original shot.
Angela Stanton replied:
Thanks Gary. The color that day was spectacular. We (the Navajo guide and I) chose different time of the day for each canyon than the usual... we did the trip backwards on purpose!

If it went Viral already, just wait a few days... :) Tweeted the first one, tweeted this one twice. Its in my Buffer to tweet again, in a few days to a week... Really like it better as a verticle, it shows much larger, so is even more impressive..
Angela Stanton replied:
You were so right Nadine and Bob!! It also went viral on my Pinterest! Immediately! It seems people really prefer the vertical one. I now use your eyes and turn things around a bit and I think that often times the different angle can look way better! Thank you for the suggestion!!
