Description

A holiday wreath with a bright red bow adorns the large arched window on the inside front of the Wortham Theater Center, Houston, Texas. Photographed at a performance of The Nutcracker by the Houston Ballet. Unidentifiable people lend perspective and interest to this beautiful large room, lit by a stunning arched barrel ceiling above, as people enjoy the lovely Christmas tree and beverages after the show.

For many Houston families, seeing The Nutcracker at the Wortham is a holiday tradition. Whether that is true of you, or you simply like the scene, this artistic indoor view of the Wortham would make a lovely Christmas card that could be framed as a keepsake.

The building was designed by Eugene Aubrey of Morris Architects and built entirely with $66 million in private funds. The theater is owned by the City of Houston and is operated by the Houston First Corporation.
