Description

I wanted to do something light and summer-related and I remembered days gone by with my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson Kaleb at Del Mar Beach, in California. They had come to visit me and we had such great fun at the beach with my only grandchild at that time Kaleb and his dad building a sandcastle just to watch it be washed away and then taking on the rebuild! The original is on a small 11x14 canvas and it has been given to my son-in-law Ed as a fun memory of what a good Dad he has always been! I am going to do a series of summer paintings using both watercolor and acrylic or maybe just watercolor. This was one with the watercolor background first and after it dried I sketched in the bodies at first, did it all in watercolor but decided to make it darker for the father and son with acrylic. It hit me how we are all children and if we are smart we cling to our Heavenly Father's hand to guide and protect us.
