Title
Heart-shaped Ember In Roaring Fire
Artist
Connie Fox
Medium
Photograph - Indoor Color Photo
Description
Amidst a roaring fire in a wood-burning fireplace in my former home, a spark shoots up and forms the shape of a heart. The spark itself has not been touched, and is part of the original image. No flash, with the appearance of a night shot.
The story behind it: The weather had turned cold, so I decided to build a fire in the fireplace. I shot a series of about 40 pictures that evening and, the next evening, did the same thing. This image was one amazing discovery among 80. The heart may be tiny in appearance, but the message was huge: God loves me. He creates the most amazing surprises, usually when we least expect something wonderful to happen. Serendipity!

Judy, thank you for your faithfulness in appreciating my work. I do find it amazing that it happened in real life, and that I was able to capture it. Fortunately I was using a DSLR rather than film, so I could easily afford many shots. That put the odds in my favor--yet who could have imagined!

Maybe the comments page had a quirk that day and I meant to come back and repost. In any case, just know that I am still grateful, though a bit tardy. Thank you!
