Description
The hour just before sunset is often know to photographers as the golden Hour. This is a 21st century photograph taken of Šibenik, Croatia and it's small boat harbor on an early summer evening near the mouth of the Krka River.
Šibenik is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. Unlike other cities along the Adriatic coast, which were established by Greeks, Illyrians and Romans, Šibenik was founded by Croats and the old city still has the character of it’s medieval history.
In the city of Šibenik there are four fortresses, each of which has views of the city, sea and nearby islands. The fortresses are now tourist sightseeing destinations. This is a must place for summer vacationists to see.
1) St. Nicholas Fortress is a fortress located on the island called Ljuljevacat the entrance of Šibenik St. Anthony Channel across from the Jadrija beach lighthouse. It is included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site list as part of "Venetian Works of Defence between 15th and 17th century.
2) St. Michael's Fortress in historic town centre.
3) St. John Fortress
4) Barone Fortress
