Description

A glorious rainbow appeared on March 6, 2019, which was Ash Wednesday, a day of prayer, fasting and repentance, as seen over Novato, California near U.S. Highway 101.

This is one of my first attempts to record on “digital film” a close-up of a rainbow during the fleeting moments when the conditions are just right, with the suspended rain droplets, sunlight peaking through the clouds, and the proper viewing angle.

I ask God for guidance as to what to write about each of my photos, and the words SACRED SYMBOL came to mind to describe God’s ORIGINAL intent for this sign.

Genesis 9:13-15 speaks of when the Creator of the universe set a rainbow in the sky as sign of His solemn covenant to never again destroy life with a global flood:

“My rainbow do I place in the cloud, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the land.
Whenever I bring clouds over the land and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
I will remember My covenant that is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

Life Lesson: May we not take for granted God’s mercy. He is giving us a brief window of time to repent before the end of time.

Point to Ponder: What life lesson does God show you when you view a natural phenomenon such as a rainbow?

Prayer: “Heavenly Father, I thank You for the beauty of creation You have given us to enjoy. I am grateful for the sign of the rainbow, showing Your mercy. Please remind me to never take for granted Your lovingkindness. I ask for Your forgiveness for wrong things I have said… done…. thought. Please cover my sins with the precious blood of Your Son, Yeshua Jesus. I ask for a brand new beginning. Thank you for granting me the gift of another day. I pray these things with a heart of Thanksgiving, in Yeshua Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Emotional note:
The day this photo was taken was also the ninth Heavenly Birthday for my Dad, Esao, after he passed away in 2010. How I miss Dad... I am comforted knowing he received Jesus into his heart by praying the above prayer ~ and that I will see him and Mother Cheryl in Heaven one day. For now, I pray to continue Mom's and Dad's legacies of sharing God's love through my artwork, until the day God calls me home to Heaven. Amen.
