Description
It was in the Garden of Gethsemane, at the foot of the Mount of Olives, that Jesus was betrayed by one of his own disciples. Christians make the pilgrimage to the Jerusalem garden to pray and reflect upon the life and ministry of Jesus Christ under the sprawling branches of the gnarled olive trees. The olive trees in the Garden of Gethsemane are among the oldest in the world, dating back over 900 years. Tradition claims a few trees in the Garden of Gethsemane are the last remnants of the olive trees that stood on site at the time of Jesus prayer and betrayal.
