Galveston Beach In Black And White
Photograph - Fine Art
This is a 21st Century sunset photograph of Galveston Beach in December. The silhouette on the horizon is the Historic Pleasure pier in Galveston extending 1100 feet into the Gulf of Mexico which stood from 1943 to 1961 where it was destroyed by hurricane Carla. It was also the site of the USS Flagship Hotel, an over-the-water hotel built in 1965 that was demolished after Hurricane Ike in 2008. The present fun park was completed in May 2012.
Photograph was made with a Nikon Z6 camera and Nikkor Z mount 24-70 mm f/4 lens.
