Description
A tall clock tower stands beside a calm body of water reflecting its image against a backdrop of clear blue sky. Bare trees line the water's edge, hinting at a season of dormancy possibly during winter or early spring.
The original bell tower was built in 1854 and was connected to the "Old Main" which later became known as what Richard Furman Hall. The architect was Edward C. Jones of Jones and Lee architecture firm from Charleston.
A new tower was built using the same specification as the old in 1965. The bells were cast in Holland specifically for the bell tower.
A tall clock tower stands at the end of a symmetrical path lined by leafless trees. The clear blue sky contrasts with the bare branches and the brickwork of the path leading to the tower.
