"Fox Walk" by Debbie Oppermann. I was amazed to see this Red Fox walking down a rural road in winter in Fergus Ontario Canada like it was just out for a stroll on a bright sunny day. I tried to go real slow with the car so I could get in a position for a closer capture but as soon as the Fox turned around it saw the car and took off running so fast I was astounded.I hadn't realized how fast they can run.Foxes are able to run between 30 and 40 miles per hour at their fastest depending on the breed. The common red fox has a top running speed of approximately 48 kilometers per hour and I bet it was fairly close to that as it ran down the road and then into this snowy field where it stopped and just wandered around the fenced areas.
