Description
Caladenia flava or Cowslip Orchid is an Australian native orchid. Found readily in spring, it grows to around 100-250mm high with a single relatively broad hairy leaf 60 to 120mm long by 10-15mm wide tinged purple on the underside. Two to four golden yellow, creamy-yellow or white, often red marked flowers 20-40mm across with short stiffly spreading petals and sepals and a prominently tri-lobed labellum with raised plate near the base, short fringed segments and twos of calli.
Sometimes naturally hybridising with the Pink Fairy Orchid to produce pretty variations
