View of the village of Forno Di Zoldo, San Sebastiano and Tamer mountain groups in the Zoldo Valley in the Dolomite Mountains of northern Italy, part of the southern alps.
Forno di Zoldo is a commune in the Province of Belluno. This mountain group is located in the Italian Veneto region, located about 70 miles north of Venice and about 18 miles north of Belluno. It has been a part of the Val di Zoldo area since 2016.
Dense forests, wide valleys, and the imposing profile of Monte Civetta combine impress the senses as being an area of wild and untamed nature, The Val Zoldana contains a vast wealth of natural scenery to entice you in winter and summer.
In it's history it was a center of mining remain and some of the remaining names suggest the mining influences, Forno di Zoldo, Fusine for example. Today, it is a major tourist area. It is close to Cortina, which will be the site of the 2026 winter games. the greatest riches of the Val Zoldana lie in tourism.
The best destinations in the area are Zoldo Alto (comprising Brusadaz, Coi, Costa, Fusine, Iral, Mareson, PalafavĆØra, PĆØcol, and Pianaz) and Forno di Zoldo.
Val Zoldana is one of the three valleys which make up the Monte Civetta ski complex, the largest in Italy, a paradise both for ski enthusiasts, photographers and hiking.
We spent one night here, Forno di Zoldo in this tiny hamlet in Belluno, Veneto district with the most wonderful views of the surrounding Monte Civetta. This view was taken from our bedroom window balcony from Dormi and Disna.
