Title
Fly Me To The Moon
Artist
David Kacey
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
I called this one Fly me to the moon because it looks as if the moon rises over the landscape of the village. In this oil painting I tried to create a halo effect around the moon and in the subsequent waters leading to it with various yellow and umber type colors... The results were better than anticipated. I can dim the light all the way down to almost no light at all and the moon in this painting continues to shine bright. I have been trying very hard to master this technique and I am pretty sure that I have set a good foundation here for future paintings. I am still a student of art and I don't see that changing anytime soon, because I believe that when you stop learning you stop improving... I started painting in February of 2012 in my living room in Celebration, Florida. No classes, no instruction, no photo aids.... I have to laugh when people say.... ooohhh I know exactly where this is... that to me is great because everything in my paintings is original to the world.... It may have a moon and it may have a sun or green landscape or a thousand other things in it..., but every painting is from my head and until I run out of ideas I plan on pumping out as many original paintings as I can... then i can paint from photos like many others do. Hopefully, it won't come to that... Although, many people have said that my work reminds them of Thomas Kinkade, the original painter of light, or Bob Ross.... I have actually started to study what they do to try to get further away from their work and those type of comments; instead of closer. If I am to make it - it has to be me.... I have to be original in every way... Famous and extremely talented artist Walfrido Garcia told me once.... you can watch and learn from me all you want, but if you try to paint like I do, you will always be referred to as a Walfrido knockoff instead of a David Kaz original.... I think for the first time in my career I have found my style in this painting. I hope you enjoy my paintings and I hope you stop by very soon to see what's next on the canvas for David Kaz.

Remarkable work! It's not just a painting of light, it actually seemed to glow when I opened it. Love the scale and the silhouettes are so nice too. f/v
