Presented here as a black and white photograph, the Fenwick Island Lighthouse protected sailors from the dangerous Fenwick Shoals that extended miles into the Atlantic Ocean. Here the light tower is shown reaching in the sky above the roof of the lighthouse keeper's home.
Some refer to this as the Ocean City Lighthouse but it is located just north of the Delaware/Maryland state line and is, therefore, the Fenwick Island Lighthouse or, as some say, the Fenwick Light.
