Title
Das Glasperlenspiel
Artist
Andreas Thust
Medium
Digital Art - Raytracing
Description
This abstract is named after the novel "The Glass Bead Game" of the German author Hermann Hesse, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1946.
The stunning complexity of the reflections gets best visible on larger-size prints. You can study them by using the magnifying tool (mouse over image).
Thanks for watching!

Thank you Rita! I am really delighted by your careful description and comment, especially because it requires a special artistic "eye" to perceive all the magic in this work. Not too many people have that! Therefore your words mean a special delight for me. - Andreas :)

Veronica, thanks for your kind appreciation! I am positively surprised that you like this one, since it is comparatively dark and a little more more mind-oriented than emotionally oriented... Wonderful! Best wishes, Andreas

Jane, your comments are always a feast for the mind and the soul! Apart from the fact that they are so surprisingly well fitting, they are artworks themselves, like verbal fireworks! Moreover, your comments are also a slightly dangerous feast for the ego :))) I admitted myself to enjoy the latter aspect too, but only for a very short moment. Meanwhile I behave orderly and humble again :))) Thanks so much for your marvellous and unique lines, Jane. I enjoyed them a lot! Best wishes, Andreas

In the thumbnail image I thought these were Christmas tree decorations! But I might have guessed that there was infinitely more going on in the mind of the physicist/philosopher/artist Andreas Thust ! I have not read that Hesse novel but remember being given a copy of "Siddhartha" when I was young. It had a profound effect although it was years before some of the concepts became more of a reality. So this is an intriguing and mysterious, intellectual and philosophical game !! (I looked up the gist of the story!) The depth of reflections and shining colours are remarkeable here Andreas. You have created a truly magical illustration of this game.I think they should bring out a new version of "Das Glasperlenspiel" and your amazing picture should be on the front! v/f
